Deep Condition

My normal routine is to deep condition on Saturday. This week I had to change to Friday because my family has plans for Saturday.

I washed my hair in the Suave Keratin Infusion shampoo. I washed with that because I wanted to have a light protein treatment but not in my deep conditioner. It smells really good and it gets my hair clean without it feeling dry.

Then I mixed my deep conditioner. I mixed one cup of Aussie Moist, two tablespoons of Olive Oil, and one table spoon of Shea Butter. I put it all in the microwave and heated it up. I put it on my hair while it was warm. I put on the plastic cap and kept it on for one hour. I rinsed it out and sealed with olive oil. I let it air dry.

This is my deep condition routine.  I do this once per week. The products will change but the process remains the same. Thanks for coming to my blog. Purple bubbles of joy to everyone. Have a good day when ever this blog finds you.

Life Style Change

I feel comfortable talking about the changes I've made in my life style. A month ago I took chocolate out of my diet. I never thought I could live without chocolate. We have had a relationship for all of my life. I thought I was addicted, but it wasn't a bad addiction. I had to give it up for my health. The chocolate was hurting my stomach.

I have a condition called diverticulitis. I have pockets in my large intestine that hold particles that cause infection. I have had half of my large intestine removed. This surgery was called a colon resection. The doctors removed the most damaged part of my large intestine and reconnected what was left to my small intestine. The doctors said that all of my intestine was damaged, but he only wanted to remove the worst part.

I was blessed that I didn't have to have a colostomy bag at any time during this process. That was four years ago now. I have since graduated from college with two degrees. I am teaching my favorite subject to my favorite groups of students, high school with exceptional needs. My life has been blessed.

I let my self go after surgery. I still had food restriction, I can't eat nuts, raw greens,  or pop corn. I could have all the chocolate I wanted as long as none of my restricted foods were in it. I gained weight. I went form 120, when I was really sick, to 157.6. I had to make changes. I also have an ulcer in what is left of my intestine. That is what was being hurt by eating chocolate.

I began by not eating chocolate. I have now  started juicing and that is my breakfast. I use frozen fruit, carrots, celery, apple, pear, cucumber, fat free yogurt, grape juice, and honey. I blend this all together in my Oster blender and drink it for breakfast. I have started walking 2 miles a day. It has been a week and my weight is now 154.6. The most important that I can remember is to be consistent. I can't go back to what I was before. I have to keep this life style going so that I can be the woman I want to be. I have to be a good healthy example for my kids, but especially my daughter.

Thanks for reading my blog. I hope I have inspired someone to make a life style choice for  health. I have inspired my son. We are on a challenge. Our goal in December 4th to see who losses the most weight. We are working out and eating better. I really believe in the saying: Each one reach one. I don't remember who said it first, but if I can reach someone and they reach someone else. The world will be better. Purple bubbles of joy to everyone who reads this blog post.
